June 23, 2015: Avon, CT
In 2011, Riverhouse Hospitality was approached to help save the historic, but failed Avon Old Farms Inn and restore it to its former prominence. A new special events catering venue was recreated and Belle Terrace at Avon Old Farms was born. With help from the owners, Riverhouse Hospitality renovated and redesigned the existing space and opened to rave reviews as the area’s newest event facility.
Some four years later, nearby Farmington Gardens looks to expand into Avon and Belle Terrace could not have been a better fit. Closing on the property took place on June 29th and the team from Riverhouse Hospitality will be there to facilitate a seam-less transition. The new ownership group plans to re-name the space as The North House, a historical nod to the building and location.
“We have enjoyed working on this project and rebuilding an asset that the owners could be proud of. In four short years we have made this a viable meeting and event destination again, one that the Farmington Gardens’ ownership group will take, nurture and grow. We look forward to working with Farmington Gardens during this exciting time for both of our companies.” – Jim Bucko, Managing Owner, Riverhouse Hospitality.
“We couldn’t be happier with the way this deal came together. Our family has been looking for places to expand our brand of hospitality for a long time. Once we visited Belle Terrace and saw the changes that were made to the property and how Riverhouse Hospitality had developed this business, we knew that this was the next place for our expansion plans.” - Nicholas Chabot, Owner, Farmington Gardens’ Group.
Both management teams will work together closely over the next few months to transition the asset to the new owners. Operational procedures, inventories, accounting and most importantly the sales office and event calendar will be the main focus.
“All the events that are currently booked and contracted remain the same. We are obviously honoring all the details that have been established for these events including the menu choices and of course pricing.” - Nicholas Chabot.
